Unfortunately, they do not accept pictures that are too heavily edited, which I like to do at times. Like this one: all dirt and weeds edited out, surfaces cleaned up.
These houses had been boarded up and painted over awaiting demolition.

The Big Wheel

I've been working on this one for years now, off and on. Somehow I'm not satisfied with it. It was supposed to be like one of those socialist murals from the thirties, the kind that shows the masses at work for the betterment of all mankind; and onwards into a glorious industrial future... Except that this one was supposed to sort of bum you out. Church, Television, Atomic Warfare, School, Work, Death.
It started as a pencil sketch, traced in Illustrator, then put into Photoshop.
Guess I'll just go back to the Illustrator file, try to make a better version.

Another disaster doodle, this one as a quasi-comic strip. I don't know where this stuff comes from, I just start drawing. The little ghost-men are a staple though, they keep coming back. It's Munch meets Disney. This one I also plotted on an HP designjet 4000ps and stretched on a frame. Now I'm painting in colour... I think I will use oil for this, tried acrylic but it is way too transparent.

This one is a photoshop quickie. A very simple idea. It's a bit hard to read, of course, but the blue plane is the Windows much-feared Blue Screen of Death. Not everyone gets the joke, if they don't know about the BSoD. But it seemed appropriate; the USA could maybe do with a reboot or a whole new operating system.

This one started out as a pencil-drawing. Then it was inked in, scanned into Photoshop, and the forms were filled in with textures taken from video-stills, from video taken in the actual area around my house, i.e. the graffity on the walls, the dirt on the street, the tiles of the sidewalk, the car, etcetera. Gives a very eerie effect I think. Also plotted and stretched at 60 by 80 cm.

This one is an image from a comic I'm making into a cartoon. That's a lot of work... scanning and cutting and pasting, basically making a flat panel into a multi-layered photoshop file, then putting it into After Effects and animating the whole scene. The results are brilliant though, there's nothing like seeing your own drawing coming to life.

This one started out as a pencil sketch, then scanned, imported into Illustrator, where the lines where traced. Then imported into photoshop, where the forms where filled in using a variety of scanned materials, such as tin foil, a printed-circuit board, and even video-caps. The eye is a scan of an actual plastic toy eye. The background was made usin a plug-in. This one was also printed on an HP plotter and stretched onto an 80 by 100 frame, and now graces a wall in my room, keeping watch over all of course. Would be fun to mount in a webcam...

I will use this blog to post my images. I have tons of drawings, doodles, paintings, photographs and photoshop/illustrator pictures. Seems like a nice way to put them all in one spot. And hey! maybe even get some comments on them. Beats them lying around in a pile somewhere.

And here is the first one. It's called 'the sun is on fire!' It's small, acrylic and ink on paper. There's also a bigger version. I scanned this one, printed it on canvas using an HP plotter, and stretched it onto an 80 by 100 cm frame. Looks fabulous!
